Coolidge Park

Today we went to Andrew's friend Catelyn's 1st birthday party at Coolidge Park. Andrew wasn't in the best mood because it was naptime so we didn't stay long. We did manage to get some pics of him on the Carousel and playing in the water sprinklers (and you can see how thrilled he looked). Today was a very clingy-fussy day in our house. We even had to get the restaurant we had dinner at to wrap our food up to go- which we have never had to do before.......Boy has life changed!!

What A Looker!!

How stinkin' cute is my son??? You know, I really think he looks older since he turned 1. His looked really changed overnight- he doesn't look so babyish anymore :( We went to the doctor and he was 30 1/2 inches (70th %) and 19lb 15oz (20th %). Tall and skinny like his Daddy! Also, an update on the raging GI bug that he started- my mom and sister both have it now. Again, I am so sorry and I hope no one else from the party has it.

I just want to say thank's to all of my wonderful friends and family who came to Andrew's party. It really meant a lot to have everyone there who cares about Andrew,has been a part of his first year of life, and has supported me through it! Some people drove all the way from Nashville, with children, then turned around and went right back, some people came alone with a toddler and newborn or just a baby and no husband to help, some came while they had a sick child at home, when they had just gotten back from vacation, and some while they were trying to unpack and move in a new home. I am so thankful for all the effort and the wonderful gifts Andrew received. I will have to post a picture of his obnoxious playroom with all of the toys. No one needs to buy my child any toys for Christmas now- he is set for at least a year!! Also, I want to thank my sister for making the adorable party favor cookies that were a big hit! They turned out so cute and I loved the card-tag with Andrew's name on it! I know that was a lot of work with 2 kids. Also, Andrew, Chad and I got a nasty GI bug on Monday and my mom was nice enough to stay and take care of us. She did everything for me and took care of Andrew ALL DAY LONG on Monday. I was in bed all day and she did everything. What would I have done if I was by myself? She left Monday night after Chad got home and had to go home to take care of her sick boyfriend with the same thing. Anyways, I love all of my family and friends and am so glad I had them all together this weekend!!

Have Your Cake...and Eat It Too!!

Andrew wasn't so sure about his cake. As much as he likes to eat, I thought for sure he would stick his face in it! He wasn't feeling well, so that probably had something to do with it. He likes to study everything, and the cake was no exception. I don't think he ate more than a few bites of it, but he sure looked cute!!

I'm 1 Today!

Andrew turned 1 on Friday, but didn't really know it was different than any other day. We hung out at the house then went to Toys R US to pick up some last minute gifts. He didn't like me ignoring him and putting them together so he was snuggling up against me and laying in my lap in these pictures! He did look adorable in his Birthday Boy shirt though!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

I can't believe that 1 year ago today my son was still in my tummy, and little did I know, he would be born tomorrow! I am having many weepy moments today, and I think it's because I am no longer counting his age in weeks or months, but now in years. He is actually a little human who is growing and getting older and is NOT going to stay a baby forever. I think I forget that this time isn't going to last forever. Even though I am sad that he's growing up, I love how fun, energetic and spirited he is at this age, and I am sure he is going to become more and more fun as he gets older! I want him to stay a baby forever, but I can't wait to watch him grow....is everything about parenthood so bittersweet??
