YL Family Camp 2011

I'm super late on getting this post done, but I didn't take any pictures and have been waiting on others to send me some. I know you're wondering, what? Amber not have her camera? I did have it, I just tried to make our weekend all about savoring moments with my family and not worrying about taking pictures and forcing smiles! So, my friend Lara and several other girls from my Bible Study have been going to Young Life family camp for a few years and told us how much fun it was..... it was all that and more! We decided to just take Andrew since the activities were geared towards older children and we wanted some special one on one time with just him. My sister was generous enough to give up a free weekend to come here and watch Carter (which he loved!) We had so much fun, not only doing crazy outdoor activities that I've always been too embarrassed  (thought I was too cool) to try but we had awesome fellowship with old friends, new friends and complete strangers! Not only did it strengthen our relationship as a family but also with the Lord......... definitely recommend it for everyone!

Wish I could say that this is me, but after standing in line for over an hour to do the zip line, Andrew (my partner) bailed out on me at the end.... maybe next year! We're totally taking Carty and I know he'll do it with me!

Boys

This first one here is just for some fun, gotta mix it up every now and then! This is what I saw when I looked out the screen door last week! 

 Still likes to sit on Dad's lap, but not very often anymore :( Can't believe this boy is 5... more to come on a birthday post!

This and That

Wow, my boys are constant entertainment!

 Carty has mastered the trike!

 and Andrew has mastered the art of pumping his legs on the swing!

I know these are blurry but the pure JOY on their faces makes me so happy! It makes me pray that my dad is watching them with a smile on his face and full of pride that he built this for the grandson's he never got to know.

Now he's mastered the big boy bike! He'll have his training wheels off before Andrew, no doubt about it, this kid has mad motor skills!

Family Time

We had such a great weekend, enjoying the beautiful and celebrating Andrew's birthday with family and friends (more on that to come!) Sunday after church we went to Coolidge with the boys and played frisbee! Love me some lazy weekend days! Andrew gets super red when he runs around, this particular day he just wouldn't stop until we made him, his face was a little frightening!

Carter does everything 100% Why ride the scooter to the car when you can pick it up and carry it?!?!

Rollin' Down the Sandhills...

Last Friday night, after Chad came home, we stayed outside and played with the boys until bedtime. Andrew started rolling down the hill and Carter quickly followed, simple entertainment!

 Grandma Bonnie came to visit 2 weeks ago and it was right at the perfect time. Both boys had just gotten over some awful croup and were now into full blown bronchitis..... these are the times when grandma's are much appreciated!! We still managed to have a great visit even though we were home bound and everyone had cabin fever. A night out without the kids was even snuck in there somewhere!
