Mr. Personality
Andrew is so much fun, he keeps Chad and I laughing all day! It's like I woke up one day and just realized that he's an independent, funny little boy who needs me way less than he ever has and I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about it. Tonight as I was getting Carter out of the bath and ready for bed I realized, Andrew lets the water out, gets out, dries himself off, puts on his jammies and comes in Carter's room all by himself every night... and he's THREE. I feel like he has to do so many things for himself these days and I really think it's so good for him. He needed a brother to help him pull away from Mommy a bit, and I needed a baby to help me stop babying my 3 year old!
Playing doctor with daddy as the patient. I think Chad had more fun than Andrew!
Andrew eats his dinner on the kitchen floor rug but recently has had to move it up off the ground so Carter can't get it. He chose to use the high chair instead of the kitchen table and now Carter has figured out how to get his food again! He stuck his hand in Andrew's ketchup last night and Andrew had the biggest fit.... so funny!Thursday, March 25, 2010
Park, Picnics and Pork!
We went to the park yesterday and met up with Bonnie and Hudson. Bonnie stopped and got Sonic for us, so we had a little picnic with our boys. Andrew wanted a hot dog and it was the biggest thing I've ever seen (he ate the whole thing)! He is all about being strong so he can be a police man like his Uncle Charlie so he is eating a lot better lately so he can "grow big"! The babies were content sitting on the blanket sharing toys and straws, shredding a magazine and playing with a dump truck. Such a beautiful day, I love Spring!
Sweet babies playing with each others hands and toes!
Checking out the latest trends in the PBKids catalogSo proud of Andrew, he plays so well on his own these days. Last summer he wouldn't have went near the play area by himself, let alone climbed anything he could've gotten hurt on. He was even talking to other kids and going on the slide while other kids were standing there... this is huge for my shy little boy! By the way, Chad's gonna die when he sees I let Andrew climb this thing by himself, it about gave me a heart attach but I stayed calm and let him be independent!

Driveway Picnic
Yesterday was so beautiful, so I took the boys outside to play in the driveway. Carter was content to sit there and eat puffs for a while but was eager to hop in the wagon with his big brother when I pulled it out. Andrew loves riding his scooter and is actually pretty good on it now. I always make him wear a helmet, shoes and socks but he just hopped on it for a minute and I snapped these pictures.... I promise (said the mom who's kid has stitches!) He has loved watching the workers build our new back patio and came to me the other day and said "look Mommy, those workers are naked out there and I can see their privates". I didn't know if I should look or not, but thankfully they had just taken their shirts off because it was warm out. Well, Andrew decided he needed his shirt off out in the sun today and a tattoo to match the workers.... glad we have such great role models for him!

Boys Club
Well, we've had our first major injury and some stitches to show for it. I wish I had a great story about how the cute girl from school in the smocked dress and bow hit him with a bat or something but it was actually pretty uneventful. Andrew rolled out of his bed in the middle of the night and hit his eye and ear on the end table. I now realize how stupid it was of me to have a wooden bedside table right next to his bed but it has since been moved. This was the first time he's ever fallen out of his bed and hopefully the last. I have a whole new respect for my little boy and am so proud of him after seeing the way he handled it all. He was so patient at the doctor (we were there 3 hours), laid there while they cleaned out his cut and never moved or cried while they numbed him and sewed him up. I had a feeling stitches might be involved in our visit so we brought his lovy along, we said a little prayer asking for God to help him be brave and Andrew did the rest. I looked at him once and saw a tear rolling down his cheek and when I asked if he was okay, he said "I'm just trying to be brave". Can't believe this little guy!!! You better bet there was a trip to Wal-Mart on the way home that included 2 new movies and cookies! Maybe you're wondering, hmm, where was Carter this whole time.... well, he was on the disgusting floor of the peds office. He kept squirming out of my arms, screamed when the nurses tried to hold him and was like a wild animal after hour 2. I had to be there for Andrew, so Carter took to the floor. I jokingly said "we'll be back in 3 days with Carter after he picks up the germs up off the floor" and he woke up vomiting today. Let's hope this is only a 24 hr bug and no one else in our house gets it.

If You're Happy and You Know It......
So proud of my baby Carty, he learned to clap this week!!! We say Yahhhh and clap a lot around here, even for the littlest things (Andrew thrives on accolades!) so I guess he's picked it up from us. He does it right after we do or if I say 'clap Carty' he tries to say Yah and starts clapping! Andrew is convinced that he taught him and these pictures might just be proof that he's right!
