Happy Turkey Day

Andrew wanted to wish everyone a "Happy Turkey Day" and tell what he's thankful for..........football pants!! We were laying in bed this morning and I was telling him what I'm thankful for and then asked him to tell me something. He said his football pants (which was his pajama pants that he was wearing). Oh, to be 2 again!!!

I'm Warning You....

This is a long and boring post with tons of pictures (none of which are of my adorable little boy) from our New York trip. If you are strictly visiting this site to see Andrew then skip this entry! Chad and I just got back from our vacation (our first one in 3 years) and had a great time together. This was my 3rd and his 1st time to got to New York, so it was really fun to watch him see things for the first time. We went non-stop from 8am until 8pm and saw pretty much every major tourist attraction that there is to see. I'm just going to list everything for you and if you have any questions or comments then you can email me. I got a new (small) camera before we went so I wouldn't have to carry around my big nice camera and I was pretty disappointed. I'm usually crazy about taking lots of pictures, but the quality of these were so bad that I just gave up after the first day. Maybe I'm a camera snob now, but I can tell a huge difference.

Guggenheim (boring), Museum of Natural History (awesome), Museum of Modern Art,Avenue Q (a Broadway play..hilarious!) Rockefeller Plaza, Time Square, ESPN store/restaurant, Bodies Exhibit (awesome), Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (romantic), Good Morning America (we had tickets and were in the audience, even got a little air time!), David Letterman (in audience and were on TV!), Ground Zero.
We also had several famous people sightings (my favorite part of the trip) which included, Reese Witherspoon (she came in Starbucks while we were sitting there having coffee), Nicole Kidman, Simon Baker and Kanye West (on Letterman), Matt Lauer, Kathy Lee Gifford, Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Emeril, and Tom Jones (old guy your mom probably knows) on GMA.
Chad became the master of the subway and I was so proud of him. I would have been lost without him there and he made me feel safe among all the sketchy subway people and rats (there were lots of them). Something random, I actually ran into someone I know standing in line next to me at the MoMA. She was a co-worker/friend in Nashville and we were both shocked to turn around and see each other. Isn't it funny how those things happen?
We had yummy dinners but mainly just relaxed after we got back to the apartment at around 8pm. It was nice to just sit around and do nothing (which is what I would have been doing if I was at the beach) and enjoy not having any obligations or responsibilities. I did miss my little boy but not terribly until the day before we left. I honestly think if it were anyone other than my sister watching him, I would have been a wreck, but I knew she would take better care of him than I do. Seriously, she is a better driver, feeds him better and makes sure his teeth get brushed. He didn't really ask for me much and was "wonderful" for her. She said he never whined, cried or threw a fit (funny how he's been AWFUL for me today). He has been asking for her and Merrick and McKenzie ever since they left, so I really think he's mad that I'm home so soon! They went to the movies and Pump it up, so he had a blast and was given lots of attention and lovin'! Thanks so so so much you guys for making my trip possible and without worry and for taking such great care of Andrew. And most of all, for loving him so much and making him so happy!

We're Pretty Sure.........

After much disbelief, numerous tests and even a doctor visit...................we're pretty sure we're having another BABY!!!! Andrew is already super excited to be a Big Brother and keeps talking about the baby in my belly and his "baby brudder or baby sisser"!!! We are somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks and will be due at the end of June/beginning of July!

Great Clips

I have always loved my little boys hair...the blonde crazy curls that are crazy out of control. As he is getting older and his hair is getting longer, the curls are going away :-( and it looks more like a blonde frizzy fro. I do all I can to keep it under control but on Friday I snapped and headed to Great Clips. The girl was super fast and Andrew did really well. I have to admit, it's shorter than I would like and he looks way too grown up for me to handle, but it needed to be done. I don't want to hear everyones comments like "I can't believe you cut his hair" I have heard it enough at home and I can't take it back now!

What I'm Lovin' About my 2 Year Old

Any of you that have or have had a 2 year old knows that this age is so much fun! Not so say that the tantrums and discipline issues aren't a pain, but Andrew is so stinkin' cute right now that he's making up for it. Here are some things that I think are hilarious/adorable that Andrew does right now......In no particular order of cuteness!

Says "Be right back" when he needs to go get something

Says "Monster's aaaaall finished" all the time because Chad traumatized him with that stupid monster mask at Halloween. I even have to tell him 100 times that the monster is all gone before he'll put his pants on now........ Chad told him there was one in them last week.

Says "I be sorry" while he's doing something he shouldn't....don't you just love how they tell on themselves at this age.

Says things are 'nice' to help him not be afraid, even in the midst of crying about them
"doctors nice" "Dudley's nice" "Mrs. Bambi's nice"

Tells me he wants sushi all the time and cracks up laughing. I think this is from watching Monster's Inc. when they go have sushi, but it cracks me up too!

Says "Andrew's Happy Day" anytime he gets excited, when he gets a new toy, chocolate, etc.

Calls candy his "fetchal treat" and calls himself "Daddy's fetchal boy"

Jumps up and down, dances and runs in circles to music and says "Andrew's crazy"!

Loves to play with Chad's football and tell us he's a 'Michigan grad' or 'football player' then yells "Go Blue"!

I have to admit that when I found out I was having a boy, even though I was super excited, I was scared that I wasn't going to know how to play with him. I didn't want to have to play fight with swords and make shooting noises with Star Wars guys, but I'm loving playing with my little boy! It's so fun to watch him run around with a football, 'play golf' with any stick and ball he can find, and push any car, train, truck or bus he can find around on my floors. Just this morning, I was in the bath and he was on the steps leading into it pushing his trains around (and trying to tell me they needed a bath too) and I thought about how happy I am to have my little boy! I wanted to write all this down so I can come back and read it when he's already been in time out 5 times tomorrow morning for hitting me or something similar....it will happen, believe me!

Happy Birthday Carly!

Andrew's friend, Carly turned 3 this weekend and had a Nemo themed party in her backyard. Carly got a little upset when we all sang Happy Birthday to her but brushed it off long enough to blow out her candles! There were tons of fun things for the kids to do in the backyard (Nemo jumper, bean bag toss, bowling) but Andrew refused to stay outside. He kept telling me that he was going inside and would throw a fit if I didn't follow. In his defense, it was cold and he was shivering......but he could have ran around and played to warm up with the rest of this kids. He stayed in Carly's room playing with her kitchen until I told him there was cake outside! In the pic of the cake you can see Andrew's little finger about to go in it if you look close! He sang "Happy Birthday to you" the rest of the night!

Happy Birthday Amelia!

Andrew's buddy, Amelia turned 2 this past weekend and had a great Elmo themed birthday party at her house. Andrew was in heaven with Cars, Elmo, a choo-choo to ride, chips and cake! What more can a boy ask for?!?! I didn't get many pictures, especially of the birthday girl....these toddlers sure don't stay still for long!

Rain Rain Go Away......

These are from last week but I haven't had much time to post them. We were stuck inside all day because of the rain, but Andrew kept begging me to go outside. I told him that he had to wear rain boots and he agreed! He loved stomping around in the rain and "marching"!

Chimps, Cheetos and Chasing!

As a friend reminded me, we do know this zoo like the back of our hand by now. Andrew wakes up asking for it and is so happy when we're there so it's hard to say no. We have a membership and it's so close to home, so Lara and I took the kids after MDO on Thurs. The had the most fun just running around on this platform they found, chasing each other and pretending to be monsters! As you can see in the pictures, the Cheetos were a big hit too!!
