Perking Up

My little man was feeling better today, so of course, Mommy broke out the camera!

This just makes me smile! I've never seen him make this face before and it made me laugh!
He looks like he's on drugs but I love his smile!
love those blonde eyelashes

Our Day in Pictures

Still going crazy stuck in the house. Carter is so much better but still not 100% and probably still too sick and contagious to take anywhere. The fun never ends at the Charapata house!! These pictures are just from today, wow, are we bored or what?

Andrew putting a "crown" on Carty
These crack me up. He's pretending to be me, and is doing a pretty good job actually. He has in the headband, my glasses and shoes on and talking on the phone and pretending to laugh.

Costume change #2 of the day! Raincoat and hat, "bracelets" and a "gun that shoots poison" AKA bulb syringe to suck all the snot out of Carter's nose! Where does he come up with this stuff?!?!

Bright Sunshiny Day!

Yesterday was so beautiful, I just had to take my boys out for some fresh air. I know, I know, I shouldn't have a sick baby out there but he had a hat on and was only outside for 20 minutes. Andrew and I put Carter down for nap and stayed out there playing as long as we could. We really needed some fresh air after being cooped up in our germy house for so long! Took Carter back to the Pediatrician yesterday because he wasn't improving and he has now developed a double ear infection. At least we can treat it with some antibiotics (which he hates and refuses to take his bottle of breastmilk if he can slightly taste the hidden Amoxicillin inside, ugh). HUGE thanks to my friend-neighbor, Marissa for going to the pharmacy and picking it up for us... I have amazing friends here!

Cabin Fever.... cough, runny nose and wheezing

Wow, where do I begin??? Well, first of all, I want to thank everyone who took the time to vote for Carter in the photo contest..... we smoked the competition!!! Didn't realize some of my friends and family members were such hard core competitors! On a different note, Carter got his first tooth on Friday and must be working on the other bottom one because he's drooling like crazy and cramming everything in his mouth. My poor baby has been super sick this week and was diagnosed with RSV on Friday. I have definitely been spoiled with a wonderful baby these past 6 months and am trying to figure out what to do with this little fuss pot! Actually, he's still pretty smiley and happy for being so sick, but Mommy has been pretty emotional about the whole situation. It is heartbreaking seeing your baby wheezing and not being able to breath well. All the while, we have been quarantined in the house since RSV is so contagious. Cabin fever is an understatement when I describe how crazy we are going in the house every day. Andrew does about 3 costume changes a day and that's not even counting pajama changes (yep, that's right, he never even makes it into clothes). Today, I even let him bring his tricycle in the house to ride so I could take a shower in peace!

Carters week        teething toys..............
                     and Tylenol
Pajamas #1 and #2 (in between changes during this photo!)

costume change #3, with an added belt, "sword" "cowboy hat" and "horse"........ our dress up options are limited so he makes do with what we have, so resourceful!

A little thing we like to call The Mommy Train. They ride, I make train sounds, instant fun for all!!!!!!!! Doesn't Andrew look like he's having a blast?!?!

Peter Parker

I have sat here for the past 10 minutes and laughed so hard at these pictures. The image wasn't nearly as funny in person but something about seeing it in a picture is cracking me up! Andrew wears his Spider-Man costume all the time and now wants a "button shirt" on top of it so he can pretend to be Peter Parker. For those of you who don't have boys or haven't seen the movies (I have to watch all 3 of them daily) Peter Parker takes off his daytime clothes and underneath them is his Spider-Man costume, and he does so when he needs to go save someone in distress or "beat up the bad guys". The only button up shirt Andrew has is this 2T one from last year, so not only is it already too small but it has to fit over his ginormous muscles! He looks more like Chris Farley singing Fat Guy in a Little Coat!!!

Vote for Carter!!

In case you haven't gotten the Email from the stage mom (me!), please vote for Carter's picture on our photographer's web site! www.dianasimpson.blogspot.com
He's #9 under Charapata
It only takes a minute and you don't have to sign in to vote.
We will get credit towards a session or a free picture! YOU CAN VOTE EVERY DAY UNTIL FRIDAY!!!
Please help us out!
Disclaimer:
Okay, after getting all crazy and emailing everyone about this, I've had some time to think about it. I, of course, think my baby is beautiful but I know he isn't the only cute baby there is. I certainly think there are babies and kids just as cute as him, if not more so in the running for this picture contest. I shouldn't tell everyone to vote for Carter just because he's my choice as cutest because there might be another photo that you like better. If someone who didn't know me were to go on there, they would probably pick a different one, right? Kinda like on American Idol, I hate when it turns into a popularity contest and people who have big families and lots of fans get the most votes, not the contestants who can really sing! As a matter of fact, my friends Maggie and Denise have their kids pictures in the contest and I think both of their children are adorable. So I'm gonna stop being competitive about this and look at it more as a "friendly competition" and may the best "photo" win!

6 months old

My little baby just had his half birthday and is now 6 months old (sniff sniff). He is growing way to quickly and is still the best baby ever!! He's become known as "Carty" around our house and it's definitely much more fitting for his silly personality (someone actually told me Carter was too stuffy a name for him). He just went for his 6 month checkup and was 19 lb 10 oz (85%) and 28 in (92%). Dr. Smith said he's not fat, just big!!! Andrew was 25 in and 17 lbs at 6 months, what a difference! I was told that I'm giving him too much breast milk and not enough baby food (non at all actually) so I need to work on that. He just doesn't like baby food when I offer it, he loves his bottle too much I guess! He's rolling both ways (front to back and back to front) sitting up pretty well by himself, and getting up on all 4's and rocking back and forth (trying to crawl!) He still doesn't have a tooth but puts everything in his mouth and drools all the time. He can manipulate a lot of toys, open and close little doors, bang on drums and already lovesDVD cases like his big brother! He's finally sleeping 10-12 hours at night (which means I am once again feeing sane and not hallucinating, yah for me!) and taking 2 short naps. He's the happiest friendliest little guy I've ever met and has added so much JOY to our family.
