Holidays Already?

The months sure are flying by, Andrew informed me that it's already Christmastime today! He pulled out his baby hats and wanted to wear them while he sang songs in Carter's crib today....very funny when you're sleep deprived and delirious! For those of you (Lara) who comment on my child never having pants on, I included a special little shot just for you! Speaking of time flying by, Carter is 4 weeks old tomorrow and we're going for his one month checkup on Monday! I'm having so much fun with my boys and have tackled the grocery store and mastitis 2 times in the past week.......I know what you're all thinking, Super Mom!!! I have to admit, some days I feel like I can't even let myself think of everything I need to be doing or am responsible for now and just work on getting through the day and moving on to the next. It's super scary going from 1 to 2 kids but also lots of fun!

Carter lives in slings, it's the only way I can get things done during the day and he loves it!

Day 6

I'm on day 6 by myself with my 2 boys and we're still hanging in there. The new Mommy adrenaline rush hasn't worn off (yet) and I'm still lovin' my middle of the night alone (snuggle) time with Carter. Don't worry, I'm not crazy, I do remember that this wears off after the second month of sleep deprivation kicks in. I feel like I'm having to ignore one kid all of the time and it's usually Carter. When Chad's here to help, we're just switching back and forth between the kids so it's definitely an adjustment. When Andrew goes to bed now, my long night is just beginning!! I'm so happy that Andrew and Carter have each other now, having a sibling is so great!!

See how I get climbed all over when I'm ignoring Andrew on the phone!!

uh oh....Carter has Andrew's lovy! Those aren't my skinny legs (they're Laura's) I wish!

We Miss Our Mimi

My mom has been here for the past week and has helped me out so much. There's just nothing like your mom when you have a new baby! She is so great with the boys and Andrew ADORES her! She and Carter were able to do lots of bonding...I don't think I changed a diaper or held him except to feed him while she was here. It was just nice to have someone to talk to and help ease me into this whole Mommy of 2 thing! There were lots of tears last night when she left, but we have done pretty well on our own today. I'm already counting down the days until she comes back to help me though! Thank you for everything mom, we love you bunches.

We stayed outside on a blanket playing for about 2 hours yesterday and both kids loved it!

Brothers, Boxes and Baths

Andrew has impressed me so much in these past few weeks. He is a wonderful big brother and loves helping out with Carter. He brings me diapers, give him his pace and gets so concerned when he's crying. He wanted in the crib with him the other day and said "look mom, your 2 paci boys!" I HAVE to get rid of Andrew's paci, I can't stand that he still has it. Carter is such a good baby and rarely ever cries. He could care less when he has a dirty diaper and only roots around and eats his hand to let me know he's hungry. He is starving all the time and I'm having trouble keeping him full. He doesn't sleep much anymore and is awake for a lot of the day now. He thinks he needs to be eating when he's awake so that's keeping me super busy and tired at night. I love sleeping with him and snuggling him in the bed. He smells so sweet and makes the sweetest little snorting noises. I forgot how much I love newborn babies!!! I am totally in love with my boyS!!!!

We Love Visitors!

We've been staying busy with 2 boys but I still haven't been alone with them. My mom is leaving tomorrow so I'm sure there will be lots of tears shed. I've loved having lots of visitors these past few weeks, and I'm gonna need them now more than ever. Please feel free to stop by and give me some adult interaction at any time!

Busy Busy

This is my official apology to those of you who I have yet to call back. I feel like I have a new list every day of calls to return and thank you cards to write.  My amazing neighbors have provided meals for us every night and that has been so wonderful. To not have to think about cooking has been such a relief. So, thank you to those who have provided meals and I promise to someday get you a thank you card!! These boys are keeping me busy but I'm LOVIN' every minute of it!! I even love my time awake at night because it means alone one on one time with Carter. He's already become quit the mommy's boy. He will only calm down and stop crying for me sometimes and stares at me with his sweet eyes and just melts me. Andrew has adjusted very well and is nothing but sweet to his brother. He wants to hold him a lot but as soon as he's finished he'll say "I'm all done with my brother, mom". It's been really hard for me not to be back to my old self again, physically. Andrew wants me to carry him, play on the floor, pick him up to play on his swingset, and I can't stand having to tell him no. All in all, things are going really well, but the true test is when my help leaves me!

Carter Graham Charapata

Our little baby Carter was born on Thursday July 2 at 9:12am. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 inches long....and perfect!!!!!! Guess I'll be needing to change the name of the blog soon! Thanks to everyone who visited, brought me food, and sat through my breakdowns (you know who you are)!!
