They Say It's Your Birthday...

I took the boys to Nashville this weekend for my niece and nephew's joint birthday party. Merrick turned 8 last week and McKenzie will be 4 on Sunday! It was a Dora-Star Wars theme and they had a huge bouncer with 2 slides. Andrew
McKenzie ran a lemonade stand the entire time and was a wonderful little server!
My sister worked for hours (literally), making these adorable Dora cupcakes and they were DELICIOUS
8 year old boys thoroughly enjoyed beating the crap out of the Dora pinata and even got my 2 year old in on the action. Andrew came to me crying and saying that they told him Dora was for girls and he should beat her up.
picking up candy
Of course, Merrick was the one to break open Dora!

Andrew came to me crying (again) saying that the big boys were beating up Merrick. He didn't really get the concept of play wrestling!

Before 8 year old boys got ahold of her!

Cutest Baby Ever!

Could this baby be any cuter?!?! Feel free to leave comments telling me no!

Let's Play Ball

I took the boys to watch Merrick and McKenzie play soccer while we were in Nashville. This is Merrick's third year playing and I couldn't believe how good he is now. It's a lot more fun to watch when they actually know what they're doing and keep score. However, it did crack me up to watch McKenzie. This is her first year and she was the cutest thing ever in her pink uniform and pigtails. She was more interested in holding baby Carter than actually playing soccer but who can blame her! Andrew was kind of bored but Carter loved being out there and enjoyed the snuggle time with Aunt Adrienne!

Kenzie playing with a leaf she found on the ground..... during the game!!

Andrew thinks it's hilarious that he put his hat on Kenzie

Fun Stuff

It's so fun to see everyone while we're in Nashville. I never get tired of watching my kids with my niece and nephew. I think big families are great and always wished we had cousins to play with when growing up. My best friend Becky came over to see the boys, then we went out to eat (drink!) with my sister. Thanks Mimi for watching my kiddos!

Early morning ride!

Go Blue!

Chad bought Andrew this hat and jersey so he can cheer on Univ. of Michigan during football season. He looks os cute wearing it, I can hardly stand it. Here he is riding the motorcycle at Mimi's house., this things was Merrick's so it's been around forever!

Big Smiles!

Carter started smiling and cooing the past week and it's the sweetest thing ever. I finally was able to catch a picture of it! I also have video that I'll try to post soon. It makes this job so much more rewarding once they start smiling at you!  Also had to post some pics of Andrew manhandling Carter while trying to get a cute shot of the two of them. He looks like he's doing mouth to mouth CPC but he's actually just trying to kiss him!

Family Fun Day

Chad and I took the kids to Coolidge Park on Sunday and had so much fun. We have always loved taking Andrew there so it was cool to go there with both of our boys. We stayed for 4 hours because everyone was being good and the weather was so nice. Andrew dressed himself to go, swimming trunks, a Lightning McQueen shirt and a size 12 month hat. I was embarrassed to go out in public with him, but just hoped that people would know he dressed himself! He loved running through the fountains and finally decided to slow down after he wiped out and tore up his knees. He always loves the carousel, so after 2 rides on that and a little Subway for lunch we went home with an exhausted little boy! Oh yeah, Carter loved being outside and is so content just looking around and checking everything out.  Mommy should've been been better about keeping him in the shade, didn't realize just a few minutes was all it takes to sunburn a baby. Poor little guy has a reed nose and cheeks because of me.
