Mouse Cake

We had a birthday celebration Friday night for Andrew. We took the kids to McDonald's then went home to eat a Mickey Mouse Cake. The kids were excited to see each other and Andrew was able to hold his own with his big cousins this time!

Bye Bye Daddy

Chad left for New York on Friday, so Andrew and I hung out with him for the morning before he flew out. We went to Little Gym class (where Andrew acted ugly, went to time out, then we left early) and to Starbucks. He ran around like a crazy child at Starbucks, pulling the juice and milk cartons out of the cooler, coffee bags off of the shelves, and pretty much making the patrons give us lots of dirty looks. We took him to sit outside (where he spilled Chads coffee all over himself) and he just wanted to look for ants on the ground. Then Andrew and I left for our trip to Nashville for the weekend. Our first stop was to see Aunt Becky and have lunch. She gave him some adorable monogrammed clothes that her mom made for his birthday, thanks "Beeky"

Hit Balls

Chad and Andrew have been going down to the golf course in our backyard and "hitting balls" for the past few weeks. Chad even bought Andrew his own putter, and now he asks to go "hit balls" all day long. I let him play with it in the driveway and he just kept trying to smack everything with it, so we'll just let this be a Daddy thing!

I Did Not.........

I did not send my son to school today even though he's on antibiotics for strep, because I desperately needed a break

I did not forget to send cupcakes to school for Andrew's birthday...I would never do something like that

I did not choose to lay on the couch and watch TV all day instead of taking a shower

I did not go to Wal Mart and buy all new diapers just because Andrew wanted Tigger and Pooh ones instead of Mickey Mouse, that would just be wasteful

I did not got to the mall tonight just to buy Andrew an orange shirt because that's the only color that he wants to wear these days

I did not let Andrew eat Goldfish and crackers for dinner and never offer anything else

I did not let Andrew go to bed without brushing his teeth because Chad wasn't home to help me

I did not let my child cry himself to sleep so I could work on this blog

And I most certainly did not just sit here and eat 15 candy corn Hershey Kisses, that would not be something I would do!

What did you not do today???

Choo Choo Cake

Chad is going to be in New York this weekend and will miss Andrew's actual birthday on Sunday. We decided to have a little celebration of our own before Chad leaves to go out of town, and we invited our neighbors over to eat some cake with us. David and Shanon were nice enough to bring Andrew a new soccer ball from Brazil, which Andrew was very excited about! He is into so many characters now (Elmo ,Diego, Mickey, Pooh, McQueen, etc) that we just decided to get him a Thomas cake. The funny thing is that he has no idea who Thomas is and has never even seen the show, but he does LOVE choo-choo's. He was so excited when he saw his cake and has asked about his "choo choo cake" ever since!!

see him "blowing" out his candle!

No More Monkey's

Andrew has become quite the silly boy in the past few weeks. He'll do anything for a laugh, and even laughs at himself and things he sees on TV. Of course, his sense of humor is different from mine, so he does lots of naughty things that he thinks are funny and I don't. He's having lots of tantrums, saying everything is "mine", "my try", "my turn", and spending many 2 minute periods in time out! He's also talking up a storm and making me laugh at the things he comes up with. He has even been putting 4 words together and saying little phrases "I want more odder"! We'll be driving in the car and he'll be in the backseat saying"gween twees" "puple fowers", "bue car" white cuck". He's learned all of his colors and loves identifying everything and saying its color. Anytime he takes a drink or bite of food he says "it's ummy", "it's good", then when it's gone he'll say "it's enty", "it's gone"!! Andrew LOVES to dance "ditz" and wants music on all the time. All this to say, this is a very fun age with lots of new discoveries every day, but very trying at the same time!
He'll say "cheese" when he sees me with the camera now

Andrew's dinner buffet. Looks like a tapas restaurant in my house every night. I'll offer 6 food in 6 different containers, trying to get this picky boy to eat something!
He wants to wear "Daddy's socks" at night when Chad comes home and has his socks on!
Loves to jump and sing "no more monkey's jumping on the couch" but he says "Bye Bye unkey's"

Weekend Getaway

Yesterday my niece, McKenzie, turned 3!! I went to Nashville (alone) for the weekend and had a blast! We had a little birthday party at my sister's house, where McKenzie insisted that she was 7 instead of 3! My sister and I spent Saturday together, shopping and just having fun being out and away from our kids. Last night she and I went out with my best friend from college, Becky and had way too much fun! We enjoyed many adult beverages and laughed until mascara was running down our faces! Believe it or not, my sister and I were able to keep up with all young, non-mommy's and stay out until 1:00am. I was hating myself this morning, but it was so worth it to get to let loose with my 2 closest friends! Andrew and Chad stayed busy with the choo-choo, park, birthday party and dinner at Famous Daves, but were both excited o see Mommy come home!
